THE DAY:
We will start with a few hours of presentation and discussion of the various benefits and possibilities of perennial crop production as well as some general elements of farm and homestead design as it pertains to sustainability and perennial crop production.
We will then break for lunch.
The afternoon will be a hands-on presentation/installation of a perennial crop system. We will walk through the design for Kindred Oaks Farm and then plant some Chestnut, Goumi, Persimmon, Fig, Apple, Hazelnut, Blueberry, and Blackberry. We will also talk about and have a demonstration on grafting fruit trees.

~ Boots or proper footwear if you wish to plant
~ Warm Clothes, we will be outside all day, presentation will be undercover but outside

~ LUNCH, In the future it is our hope to provide lunch for such events, but because of COVID sharing a meal seems like an unnecessary risk, so we are asking everyone to pack their own lunch. Thank you for understanding!
COVID-19:
We are aware that this event is happening during hard times. We understand that not everyone may feel safe in joining us, which makes total sense.
We will be doing everything we can to ensure the safety of those that participate and the hosts of the event. For this reason our presentation will take place outside and undercover. If it is cold we will aim to have heaters, but please still come dressed for a full-day outside in whatever weather presents itself. We will also be socially distancing during the presentation and work. There will be hand sanitizer and access to a bathroom for washing hands (and other needs).
We are also asking that EVERYONE bring a MASK. Even though we will be outside and distanced we are still going to require masks. This is for the safety and comfort of all involved. We do not know the situation of each individual attending, whether they or those they are close to are at higher risk, nor what everyone's personal comfort level is. So to ensure everyone's safety as best we can we appreciate everyone wearing a mask and understanding.
ADMISSION:
This event will be $35. Cash and Checks on the day of the event are perfect, but please RSVP to this event on our facebook page or by emailing Warren at warren@kindredoaksfarm.com
