Farm Needs

Farms have forever been a central and important part of the community. For a long time they were the center focus of the community, if not physically, then by importance and through effort given to it. Without the farm, the community does not eat. While this may not be how we think about farms nowadays, the hope at Kindred Oaks Farm is that there is some amount of energy and focus turned back to how we are growing our food, how we are sustaining our communities, ourselves, our earth. With that said, farms were and continue to be sustained by the community that surrounds them. As a new farm, as a beginning farmer, and living as a young person in this world I recognize that this farm will go further if we “go together.” There is still a slow growth approach to this farm, but there is also the recognition that we need these alternative ways of growing healthy, nutritious food, and we need it sooner rather than later. It will be a balance of going quickly, but with intention and community so that we can sustain what is built. The more help there is, the better.

There are many ways to help, and there are many needs of the farm, some of which we may not have even recognized yet. It is a list of what we have not yet been able to purchase or find. If interested or intrigued please check that out. Otherwise we have plenty of need for willing hands ready to get dirty this spring and going forward, so follow along for those opportunities.
